Photoshopped Designs
The dresses on fivecotton.com are all beautiful, but they all have one thing in common; they are not original. A close inspection showed how the products – especially the dresses- are photoshopped.
The images appear have been edited, The designs superimposed into stock images of models. Photoshop 101.
What does this mean?
Since the designs are manipulated, you would likely receive cheap imitations, products that are different and quite inferior to what is on the website.
Customer Complaints
Though FiveCotton has no provision for customer reviews on its website, customers have been leaving reviews on the official Facebook page. The Image below shows the experience a customer had when she shopped from fivecotton.com
Suspicious Nature
On FiveCotton’s Facebook page, ‘Hangzhou Shaohuo Technology Co., Ltd.’ is mentioned as the name of the company. Sadly, this confirms my fear. The store is located in China. This means it mass produces clothes which could be of inferior quality.
Is Fivecotton.com Legit?
From the points noted above, I wouldn’t call FiveCotton a legit clothing store. Still, I wouldn’t call it a scam. It is either you don’t get the exact item you order, or you get lucky.
Would I buy my dresses from this store? I honestly wouldn’t. Apart from the possibility of receiving junks, I don’t have the patience to wait for the delivery. The estimated delivery time is between 2 – 4 weeks due to the fact that the products are coming from China!
Conclusion:
From all indications, fivecotton.com is not a reliable online store selling women’s clothing.
At the end of the day, just like Jeloow, and a host of other sites located in China, Customers might receive knock-off imitation of what they had ordered.
You should consider buying from these Amazon sellers below. The delivery is swift, and response is timely.
Have you been scammed?- Do This
Shopping from this store exposes customers to the risk of hacked credit card and overcharged fees. Also, customers would either receive an inferior item, a different cheaper item, or nothing at all.
Therefore, it is advised to file complaints to your bank and request for a new credit (debit) card. On the other hand, if you used Paypal as a method of payment, you should document (screenshot) the transactions for future purposes.
Yes, it is true that online shopping has made life easier, however when ordering things online check out the following-
How old is the website? Does it provide return address? Are there customer reviews online? Do the social media icons work?
Always remember you can get the items from trusted sellers on Amazon, like the ones provided above. One of the advantages of shopping from amazon is the return policy. If you are not happy with your order, you can always return your items and get your money back.
The items I received from FiveCotton were definitely not cotton! And they didn’t look like the lovely things on the website, they were junky. Now I’m trying to get them to tell me how to send them back! Not looking good.
I ordered first week of June, they were saying 12-18 days delivery (so I was convinced it could not possibly come from China). After a month, I filed a claim at Paypal’s and got a refund. Believe it or not, 2 days later (6 weeks delivery instead of 15 days) I got the order. Dresses look good and they are indeed made of cotton, most of them.
I ordered two cotton dresses from five cotton and received cheap polyester. One was so ugly and shiny, it’s embarrassing to wear.
