What Is Greenpan All About?

Greenpan is a brand that offers sets of healthy ceramic non-stick cookware. The brand claims their pans are  award-winning, and uses revolutionary Thermolon technology. There’s also the talk about if being made from recycled aluminum with a toxic-free ceramic coating.

When the brand first came into light, it was the rave when it comes to non-toxic cookware. In fact, it was advertised as “completely toxin-free,” “healthy,” and “free of PFOA, PFAS, lead, and cadmium.” However,  the company has come under scrutiny for these claims in recent years, and many are accusing it of greenwashing. There’s even a 2019 class action lawsuit against it.

With all this, I decided to sample their non-stick frying pan. This I ordered on greenpan.us, for a 30% discount sale plus free shipping.

Testing:

The sets I bought are meant to be compatible with an induction hob, but they are so slow to heat a pan of water. I did a test with the same size pan in a different make. I put a pint of water in both pans and the other make boiled in half the time it took Greenpan to do so.

Meanwhile,  when I used it to fry an egg. The egg stuck to the surface of the pan. This astounded me as even the cheapest and nastiest of non stick pans an egg will slide off the surface even without oil. This shows they are not non-stick as advertised.

Majority of the complaints documented on Trustpilot are the long time it takes to heat, doesn’t slide food off easily, and poor customer support.

Bought three pans. Two have worked fine so far. Sticky spots developed on the other. Contacted Greenpan. They suggested a cleaning method with a magic eraser, which we did. Somehow during this process two little flecks of the surface peeled away. Greenpan flatly rejected our request for a replacement pan and said the damage must have come from a hard object hitting the pan – which I can categorically say did not happen – basically calling us liars. Horrible experience, would never buy from them again.

The worst set I have ever had. Everything sticks rusting and blackening even 5 dollars is not worth it, my advice you stay away from this company they do not really have a warranty on the product they send you to clean it like we do not know how to clean

Conclusion:

GreenPan is a viral non-stick frying pan that doesn’t meet its claim of being toxin free and non-stick. Meanwhile, it takes longer to heat and is quite sticky. Just like my Suvie Kitchen robot, I’m not satisfied using it.
