If you’re one of them, you might be eligible for some compensation or benefits! The settlement also benefits non-Progressive policyholders who made claims for underinsured motorist benefits but had their payments reduced or denied because of certain offsets. So, this lawsuit against Progressive, said they misled people about their coverage limits and used tricky tactics to lower the claims of policyholders. They’re accused of breaking New Mexico’s Unfair Insurance Practices Act and other state laws. Not cool!

How Much Is The Settlement

Progressive will make things right for its policyholders affected by the settlement. However, If you are a class member and had a wrongful death claim between May 8, 2014, and March 22, 2022, they will automatically adjust your payment, which is around $25,000 per person. Just in case, You don’t need to fill out a claim form for this.

For class members who are not eligible for wrongful death payments, you can still get other benefits by submitting a claim. If you made an underinsured motorist claim for injuries or property damage between Jan. 1, 2004, and March 22, 2022, they will also adjust your claim or you can submit a new one, valued at around $25,000 per person.
