reactivate-mywallet-help.com Apple Pay Suspended Scam Text: Beware!
Did you receive a text message from Apple telling you that your Apple Pay has been suspended due to unusual activity? Did it contain a link to reactivate-mywallet-help.com for reactivation? Beware! It is a scam! It is not from a reliable source. Find out how this scam works below.
Apple Pay Suspended Due To Unusual Activity Scam Text: What is it all about?
It is a phishing text message sent by scammers who are specifically trying to get you to give up your Apple ID and password. They claim your Apple Pay has been suspended due to unusual activity, but this is false.
First of all, the link ‘reactivate-mywallet-help.com’ attached to the text message is not the legit Apple Pay website. Secondly, when you visit your apple pay account you’d discover that it has not been suspended and there’s no notification about that on your dashboard.
The scammers who sent the text hope to get your apple ID and password. When you put your password and ID on reactivate-mywallet-help.com, your account gets compromised immediately. In cases were it isn’t, your mobile device gets exposed to viruses, spywares, etc. which are harmful to devices and can hack and destroy your iPhone.
Tips To Protect Your Apple Account And Devices:
- Never share personal information like credit card numbers, unless you can verify the recipient is who they claim to be.
- Protect your Apple ID. Use two-factor authentication, always keep your contact information secure and up to date, and never share your Apple ID password or verification codes with anyone. Apple never asks for this information to provide support.
- Download software only from sources you can trust.
- Don’t follow links or open or save attachments in suspicious or unsolicited messages.
