How much is the settlement
The settlement secured $5.3 million, which would be used to compensate affected Sanyo solar panel owners. It was also agreed that $300,000 would be used to litigate how the panels failed, and why the warranty offered was misleading. Also, Sanyo agreed to set up additional support for owners of their solar panels. The amount each affected Sanyo solar panel owner can claim depends on the issues with their panel and can be up to $450.
