Slash Watts Scam: Don’t Fall For This Hoax Electric Saver Box

Are you searching for Slash Watts Reviews? Are you looking for a way to reduce your power bill? Here’s my review of Slash Watts device. I Bought and tested Slash Watts to find out its efficacy in saving power & reducing electricity consumption. In this review, I share my experience using the power saving device called ‘Slash Watts’, its pros, cons and everything you should know about it.

What is The Science Behind Slash Watts?

Slash Watts is a device that is sold with the claims of reducing electricity costs. It is said to do so by stabilizing the flow of electricity. By doing so, it prevents energy waste and regulates power supply so that users can only pay for energy needed and use.

Sounds like some huge science invention right? Sadly, it’s all hog wash.

Testing Slash Watts:

I ordered for this energy saving device after my friend talked me into buying it. One week later, it arrived, looking like it did in the advertisement and pictures online. It was very much easy to use; I only needed to plug it directly into a wall socket (PS; don’t use extension). When plugged, it displayed a green indicating light, showing it is working.

However, after two months use, my light bill still pretty much remained the same. I was even surprised to see a spike of $10 extra on the second month.

So, Slash Watts did not change my electricity consumption in a positive way, rather it increased my power bill. It did not work in saving power or filtering bad electricity.

An Electrician Reviews Slash Watt: Scam Device!

As a consumer with no knowledge of electricity, I gave a professional electrician my Slash Watts device and the first thing he did was laugh at my gullibility. This is what he said; Slash Watts cannot slash your power bill or reduce your electricity consumption by filtering dirty electricity. There is NO WAY any device of this size can stabilize a home electrical AC supply or produce the savings advertised. Electrical consumption is based on total power consumed and NOT phase corrected VAR.

Meanwhile, when he dissected the device he discovered it only contains a capacitor placed across the power line. This actually might do a little bit of power factor correction, but you are not billed for reactive power at home. So it saves you nothing in money.

Slash Watts is also a fire hazard. It is not rated for connection across the AC line. It is a fire hazard if there is a lightning strike nearby. Capacitors connected directly to the AC line are supposed to have an “X” rating for safety. Meanwhile, Voltex, Voltbox, Watt Rescue, Ecowatt, Miracle Watt, are names which it was called in the past. When you click on the links, you’ll see tons of complaints from users calling it BS. If I were you I wouldn’t go an inch near it, except of course you just want to use it as a toy.

Verdict

Slash Watts is a scam toy that is misleading sold as an electricity saving device. The claims that it can stabilizes electrical current and correct energy waste is hog wash. It cannot slash your power bill, not even 1%.

3. Unplug Idle Electronics.

You have devices like televisions, microwaves, scanners, printers, etc.? Unplug them after use! They use standby power, even when off. Some chargers continue to pull small amounts of energy, even when plugged in (a good judge of this is if a charger feels warm to the touch).
