First of all, I’ve come across similar ‘energy saver’ in the past which turned out to be BS. However, the information on truewatt.co was so convincing and I decided to make an order.

Just like the pictures on the website, True Watt is a small plug-in device that emits a green light when plugged into a wall socket (NOTE: You shouldn’t plug it into an extension but directly to a wall socket) The advertisement claims TrueWatt automatically regulates and stabilizes the flow of electricity to eliminate waste.

What I Don’t Like About True Watt Energy Saver
Fake Endorsement Claim
First of all, the claim that the TrueWatt is the #1 energy regulation device trusted by thousands of homeowners and businesses around the world, is false. When I unboxed my package, I realized it is a twin copy of other cheap energy savers I’ve bought in the past. In fact, just like Voltex, Voltbox, Watt Rescue, Ecowatt, Miracle Watt, it came with a generic name ‘Energy saving box’ and a Chinese inscription on the body.
It made me realize that the science research background story is fake and complete BS, like I fool I had fallen for the BS same way I had fallen for the ones in the past.
Danger of Electrocution
When I unboxed the True Watt I discovered that the capacitor inside it is not rated for connection across the AC line. It is simply a packaged disaster. It is a fire hazard if there is a lightning strike nearby. Capacitors connected directly to the AC line are supposed to have an “X” rating for safety.
Slashed 0% of my Power bill
On a norm, my power bill is between $500 – $600 monthly. With True Watt I expected to see $300 or even $250 but when my power bill arrived there was no change at all. In fact I noticed an unusual 3% spike.

No, it doesn’t! After using it for a month it didn’t reduce my electricity bill, rather there was a 3% spike. What you should know is this ‘There is NO WAY any device of this size can stabilize a home electrical AC supply or produce the savings advertised. Electrical consumption is based on total power consumed and NOT phase corrected VAR. Meanwhile, it only contains a capacitor placed across the power line. This actually might do a little bit of power factor correction, but you are not billed for reactive power at home. So it saves you nothing in money.
It probably has *just enough* effect that the statements in the ads are not complete lies, but the device is still completely useless in general. It does not reduce electrical consumption or filter dirty electricity as claimed.

No matter how convincing the Ad look, the truth is that energy saving devices like True Watt do not work. They are unsafe and could cause a fire or electrocution.
